Volunteers must by 14 years of age or older.  Younger than 14?  Ask about our Barn Buddy Program!

Volunteers are the heart of our program!  You can learn about disabilities, develop or hone horse handling skills, and learn about the power of the human-animal bond.  This will also be a great opportunity to increase physical fitness and to enjoy the social benefits of volunteering!  For many riders, their time at B.R.E.A.THE. will be the most significant part of their week.  By volunteering with us, you will be helping to ensure that our riders will continue to benefit from the life-enriching power and potential of therapeutic riding.

We need side-walkers and horse leaders for lessons, and class volunteers to assist the instructor.  In addition, volunteer talent is needed for stable and grounds maintenance, equine grooming and care, classroom training, horse adoption evaluation, facilities development, fundraising, public awareness (aka advertising!), grant writing, general office, photography and videography, and event planning.

Volunteers will be required to attend a volunteer training at a scheduled day and time.  Training will last approximately 2 hours. Lesson volunteers will be asked to sign up for a minimum of one shift per week, per session.  Sessions run for 4 weeks.

Volunteer hours may count for school, court or extra-curricular requirements.  Check with your school or administrator to verify before scheduling yourself to volunteer.

If you are passionate about serving the needs of those with disabilities and have a passion for horses, we encourage you to contact us.
